Feature: Watches We’d Love To See In 2023

Now that the new year is well underway, so is the chatter between watch nerds like us predicting what hot new releases they think 2023 will bring. With that said, let’s take a look at our guesses for the year ahead.

A New Rolex Daytona Design

Who’d have thought it? A watch as cool and effortless as the Rolex Daytona is now officially tiptoeing towards pensionable age. That’s right, the Daytona has turned 60 this year and to celebrate we reckon—and really, really hope—Rolex will release a new model. A new colourway, perhaps? A special edition 60th anniversary piece with Paul Newman’s face engraved on the caseback? Maybe. One thing we do know, is that whatever it may be, we’ll take it!

Hublot Big Bang

Just last month we watched in amazement as Argentina beat France in an epic final to lift the 2022 World Cup trophy. In just a few months’ time, we’ll get to enjoy the excitement of the tournament all over again as we watch the women’s game. As the World Cup’s official timekeeper, Hublot is expected to release a limited-edition watch—like they did for the men’s one—dedicated to this year’s women’s World Cup, which will be hosted in a joint effort by Australia and New Zealand.

Casio G-Shock

Casio is also celebrating the anniversary of one of its models this year, as the G-Shock turns 40 years old! Admittedly, Casio already announced last year that it will be releasing new G-Shock models to celebrate its 40th anniversary, so this isn’t just a prediction, but a matter of fact! Two of these releases are the “Flare Red” watches, both of which feature flame-inspired bezels and red details on their black dials, as well as a 40th anniversary logo on the caseback. Although these two are already available for purchase, we reckon this isn’t all Casio has in store for the G-Shock’s birthday…
